Authenticity, Spontaneity, & Play lies at the core of CUCKOONESS,
our work is ever-changing responding to the transitory nature of time and space.

CUCKOONESS was founded by XinYi Selina Zhang in 2020,
when she started a project of “CUCKOO’s one drawing per day”,

These drawings became a private diary of the emotional landscape — a place where tenderness, anxiety, wonder, and play could coexist.

Over time, the lines broke free from the page:
they became ceramic creatures, sculptural companions, installations, forests of soft spirits with ears and gentle eyes.

CUCKOONESS is now an evolving art universe.
It blends drawing, ceramics, architecture, and worldbuilding into an imaginative ecosystem — a parallel world where the inner child is safe to breathe.

Through exhibitions, objects, prints, characters, immersive installations, and collaborations with craftsmen,  CUCKOONESS invites the viewer to enter a world of softness, curiosity, and dream-logic.
